In the paper, you must critically analyze the issues raised by the book, and how they relate to issues in Criminology.

The book analysis requires students to read and consider the text In My Father’s House by Fox Butterfield. This book is a recent and compelling text in Criminology. Not only will reading this book expand your understanding of criminology and criminological inquiry, but it will also encourage you to think critically about the sources of information you might draw from in your own research through the critical book analysis activity.

This seven-minute podcast discusses how and why crime spread through the Bogel family.

In the paper, you must critically analyze the issues raised by the book, and how they relate to issues in Criminology. These need to be explored with reference to your learning and the development of your insights throughout the course. You can select a single or a number of issues raised in the book for your focus, but your critical analysis must incorporate new, additional research. The best reflections will integrate research, personal observations, individual insights connected to the book, and theories and ideas from the classes.
The book analysis should be between 800-1000 words. It must be submitted online through Moodle.
Submissions should be in 12 point Times New Roman font with 1.5 line spacing.
References should appear in Chicago style with a full reference list at the end of the reflection. Reference lists do not count towards the final word count, but in-text references do.
Include a cover page with your name, the class, and the total word count.
