Prompt
Identify an argument about the 1920s that Kevin Boyle makes in The Way We Lived essay entitled “Prosperity and Prejudice in Postwar America.” Then, support that argument with three pieces of evidence: one from the textbook chapter, one from the audio lecture, and one from the documents in either Chapters 8 and 9 from The Way We Lived. Be sure to frame the evidence analytically, that is, as an author uses it to get you to see the historical thesis you present. Your choice of argument and combination of evidence must be different from everyone else’s.
Please note:
1. Your two comments for others must include at least one piece of specific evidence from a document in Chapter 8 and one example from a document in Chapter 9. Do not use any other sources than the Way We Lived documents.
2. Do not use an example of author(s)’s evidence more than once in all three of your posts.
3. Do not quote under any circumstances. I am interested in your words alone. Every quote used will cost you a full letter grade (10 points). Instead of quoting, argue with author as your subject, looking at how he/she presents the evidence to get you to see its importance.
