LGBTQ health during childhood and adolescence is the population. While not constrained, you may select one specific health theme relevant to this population. You will write 2-3 page reflective paper in which you will analyze, discuss, and comment upon selected topic.
Instructions: Here is what your paper should address.
(1) What have you learned about the current state of the public health knowledge on the topic (i.e., how your newfound knowledge has affected your understanding of the topic). Identify health challenges relevant to individuals of your chosen group in the US and worldwide. Identify historical and/or contemporary dynamics contributing to these health challenges.
(2) Your view of issues that are particularly salient to understanding or addressing the topic in the specified population (i.e., you can support it with your observations and/or personal examples). Identify and explain health inequalities and discrimination faced by the population of interest. Explain interaction of socio-economic determinates with individual behavioral factors on the health outcomes of chosen population.
(3) What should be considerations for future public health practice or clinical care to address this issue; and
(4) What are your recommendations for future research or practice to better understand and/or address or solve the problem/topic in chosen LGBTQ population (i.e. try to recognize and break down your assumptions of the issue).
