Assessment Description
Movement and drama support a kinesthetic learner. They help young children be creative using their whole bodies. In young children, this can support physical development as well as increase their engagement in the instruction.
Use the “COE Lesson Plan Template” and one or more literacy standards from your unit outline in Topic 3 to create a lesson plan for your field experience classroom.
The lesson plan should:
1. Include clear objectives that align with the selected standards
2. Integrate literacy and drama and/or dance to increase engagement
3. Use various teaching strategies to increase engagement and learning
4. Include developmentally appropriate interactive technology to enhance learning
5. Include formative and summative assessments that are aligned to the selected standards to provide feedback throughout the lesson and assess student learning of the standards/objectives.
