Students will identify a Social Policy that impacts the clients that they serve in their field practicum. They will determine which groups are impacted by the policy, and briefly explain how they are impacted.
Instructions: Students should include a brief history of the policy and the relation to culture, ethnicity, age, gender identity, religion, race, economic status, and rural/non-urban status. Discuss the current political climate and whether it has an impact on the policy? In what ways? How does this policy impact African-Americans? Briefly explain why and how social workers should be concerned/involved.

The paper should be written in APA style and be 5-7 pages in length, double spaced. The 5-7 pages only include the body of the paper and not the cover page and reference page.
Include at least 4-6 current (no less than 3-years old) evidence-based journal articles.
Integrate at least one piece of policy advocacy (a public testimony presented to a legislative committee, or an informational sheet to a legislator)
