· Describe the role of the child’s environment on neurological development in young children
· Promote healthy brain development in young children
· Identify community resources that are available to support healthy neurological development in young children
· The selected teratogen is:

Research the teratogen and compile information to teach your classmates about it in a PowerPoint presentation. You will need to present the presentation.
o Your presentation will:
§ Describe how exposure occurs
§ Describe known effects citing reliable sources
§ Identify sensitive periods, threshold levels, and other related information
§ Provide strategies to avoid or mitigate the risk of exposure to the teratogen
§ Suggest good resources (local and/or online) for someone who would like to read further on this topic
o Create a 5-7 minute presentation
o Guidelines for presentations:
§ Use 7-10 information slides
§ Each slide will have no more than 30 words with 5-7 lines (usually bullet point), font no smaller than 24 pts.
§ The slides should be used only as a template to remind you of key points during your presentation, rather than just notes that you will read to the class.
