According to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. It is estimated that over 40,000 veterans are homeless on a given day. Among the general adult population experiencing homelessness in the United States, 13% are Veterans. No veteran should experience homelessness in the United States. However, addressing homelessness among veterans brings unique challenges. As such, any proposed strategy would deploy a multifaceted approach targeting veteran homelessness from prevention and the rapid rehousing of veterans experiencing homelessness (United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, 2022). Purpose of the Study This study will seek to review the literature and evaluate various interventions and best practices as it relates to veterans experiencing homelessness. The goal is to identify proven methods that can be modeled at a local level. Research Methods The method used will be to review previous work in this field, including but not limited to academic studies and data from projects addressing the issue of homelessness. Expected results It is expected that this research will aid in informing future policies to address homelessness among veterans.
