A strategic organizational issue that I would like to analyze for my week seven assignment would be converting many positions to virtual positions within my organization. Like most organizations, the company I work for was forced to convert many of their in-person positions to virtual positions during the pandemic. This was a temporary thing for most organizations. However, my organization saw an opportunity to cut some of its overhead costs and improve its employees’ work/life balance. While most of our employees loved this change, we have been experiencing a few problems.
Our more senior staff members have not adapted to the change very well and hate depending on new technology to complete their daily workload. We are also having trouble training new employees in a virtual environment. We need to establish a way of training all of our employees that transitioned into the new virtual environment and refine our onboarding procedures to ensure our employees are adequately trained before entering a 100% virtual environment. My role in this change would be leading the organizational change.

The strategic organizational issue that I would like to analyze for this assignment would be initiating a successful transition of employees from an in-person work environment into a virtual work environment. My role during this transition would be leading the organizational change. I feel that the most significant issues we have faced during my current organizations transition to a virtual work environment have been a lack of training and our senior employees resisting the change. My goal would be to ensure new employees are adequately trained in their position and the technology we are using before releasing them into a virtual workspace. I will also be identifying methods to get senior employees onboard with my organizations decision to convert their positions to virtual positions. Many of these employees are leaving our organization due to not wanting to rely on technology to do their job. During this change I would like to:
