OVERVIEW: This written assignment is entitled “American Sitcoms: A Look at Culture &
Socialization”. It is a media analysis. A media analysis examines and possibly critiques
how social issues or social groups in society are represented in the media to help better
understand human group behavior. Students will be provided a copy of an episode of
three different American sitcoms to conduct the analysis.
