malware static and dynamic analyze

For this assignment you will select 1 of the ransomware
samples from the Assignment 3 Samples zip archive (password
“infected”) in SLATE. You will complete a malware analysis report similar
to your previous assignments.
This report will include an additional section where you will outline
how you used dynamic analysis to further understand understand the sample.
You will also record a video sample (no more than 5 minutes) of you
actively debugging and describing the parts of the sample you find most
interesting.
Evaluation:
2 mark for file metadata analysis (is it packed, stripped,
obfuscated?)
2 marks for text/string analysis (what do the default strings
listings tell you?)
4 marks for discussion of disassembled code (what can you learn from
static analysis?)
6 marks for dynamic analysis discussion (how did you debug? what did
you learn by stepping through? screenshots and notes)
6 marks for debugging video (< 5 min, audio description of what you're doing and why you chose to debug this section, why is it interesting?)
