Literature Review Paper Construct a review of the literature and evidence pertaining to a selected topic or problem in nursing. Elements of the critical literature review include: statement of the problem or purpose of the literature review; background and significance of the problem; theoretical or conceptual framework for organizing the literature review; systematic review of literature relevant to the topic or problem; synthesis and analysis of the literature reviewed including perceived gaps; application of the literature review and findings to advanced nursing practice; and proposed directions for future research.
