Write a 2000 word (hypothetical) policy brief of the type that could be provided to a Minister of Health to address your chosen population health issue and detail an approach including at least two of the following public health activities (health legislation, health policy, health education/promotion, healthy settings or reorienting health systems) to address the issue with evidence for effectiveness of the activities drawing on the published peer-reviewed literature – minimum of 6 articles.
First, describe the heath problem or issue using published peer-reviewed literature.
Secondly, describe the areas of action you are proposing (the public health activities) and why as well as key steps required drawing on the peer-reviewed articles (evidence) you have sourced. Include a discussion of the key actors needed to ‘make this happen’ and how you will ensure the proposed approach addresses health inequities.
Ensure you have an introduction to the policy brief which gives an overview of what you will cover and a conclusion summing up main points and making key recommendations.
