For this assignment, you will use an archival dataset of your choice (or the sample dataset provided in the course resources) to create descriptive statistics and data visualizations.
Your data set must contain the following:
At least two different grouping or independent variables (categorical variables)
One interval or ratio level variable (continuous variable) that can serve as a dependent variable
One binary variable that can serve as a dependent variable.
A binary independent variable can also be used as the binary dependent variable in a separate analysis, if appropriate. For example, you might have a variable with two levels that you use as the independent variable for your ANOVA analysis and that same binary variable is used for your dependent variable in your logistic analysis.
Complete the following steps using your data set:
Run exploratory statistics and charts on your selected dataset to understand the characteristics of the data. Note: bivariate relationships should be examined.
Write a paper that describes the characteristics of the data.
Indicate the level of measurement for each variable in the dataset (nominal, ordinal, interval or ratio)
Indicate the most appropriate distributional parameters (e.g. measure of central tendency and dispersion) and visualizations to summarize each variable.
Provide a justification for those selected descriptive statistics and charts based on the characteristics of the variables.
Discuss any data quality concerns that you have based on your exploration of the data.
Explain how you might handle quality concerns using supporting examples from the literature.
