After reading Chapter 11 and taking surveys on some of your general personality traits, take some time and write an essay (1/2) describing your own personality.
Here are some questions to guide you?
1. As your text states do you feel your results on The Big Five tend to lie somewhere midway along the continuum of each factor, rather than at polar ends?
2. When you took the 2 big five surveys did you find any deviation in the results ?
3.what traits did you score high in when you took the Big 5?
4. Pretend you are someone else and they are asked to describe your personality. How would they describe your personality?
5. If you had to describe your own personality, do you think your description would be the same as other people’s? (This question is based on the idea that sometimes we may not feel that we are totally ourselves when we are with other people and that because of that people may describe us a different from how we experience ourselves. For example, if you are sometimes quiet in crowds someone who first meets you may describe you as shy, but you yourself may not think of yourself as a shy person, etc.).
6. Name 3 of your best personality traits.
7. Name 3 of your worst personality traits.
8. Think of yourself 5 years ago. How has your personality changed over the years?
