Throughout this essay, we’ll be discussing Rodney King and society’s effects of police brutality on a black man’s psychological well-being. Besides this, I’d like to incorporate the amount of pressure society put on King which caused him to find certain coping mechanisms such as an excessive amount of alcohol and drugs; cocaine metabolites, cannabinoids, phencyclidine, benzoylecgonine. I’d mainly like to focus on the effects of society and the classification/effects of each drug on the body. This is for a sociology drug and alcohol abuse class
