JOURNAL CRITIQUE: HUMAN PERFORMANCE TECHNOLOGY AND EDUCATIONAL
TECHNOLOGY ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS
Write a 4-6 page critique of 5 scholarly articles (no more than 5 years old (although chapters in
the Kidd & Song textbook may be used) dealing with the application of human performance
technology with educational technology. Find articles that can be used in your Research Project.
Either a basic or lens hole approach may be used. In the basic (or classic) approach each article is
given equal weight. The lens hole approach weighs heavily on one (or two very similar) article(s)
to critique the others. Good practices of writing comparative critiques should be in use. In
essence, you are comparing and contrasting these articles. You should thoroughly acquaint
yourself with the articles, build a frame of reference from which to write, and form a thesis
statement for your paper which captures the main focus of your argument. The critique must be
4-6 pages in addition to the title and reference pages. The critique must be submitted as a Word
document in current APA format, however, an abstract is not required.
