Watch the documentary Growing Up Trans. Then write a 3-4 page (double spaced, standard margin, Times New Roman font 12) reaction paper to the documentary. Your reaction paper should include a critical review of the information and address each of the following:
1) How do family reactions have an impact on the choices and options for a Trans child? Discuss both the supportive and the unsupportive reactions (10 points)
2) Why is the medical treatment of transgender children controversial? Be specific about research, issues, and
outcomes (10 points)
3) Discuss the impact on the mental health of the children in the video, both as gender nonconforming and as
transgender individuals. (10 points)
4)Discuss some of the concerns that parents expressed during the video. Include in your discussion whether the concerns expressed by parents are addressed (by the medical community, support groups, etc). Be specific about the concerns you review. (10 pts)
