Ø
Students
will write a final research paper in which they defend any thesis they like on
any issue from the course. There is plenty of latitude here: a
student may wish to defend a position on issue, critique a position on an
issue, offer some nuance to help clarify a debate, or defend a novel position
of their own.
Ø
These
papers should be between 3500-4000 words.
Ø
Again,
paper should include a clear thesis statement in which student clearly outlines
the claim(s) they intend to convince the reader of.
Ø
Students
should consult and use at least fifteen scholarly (peer-reviewed) source
in addition to assigned readings.
