Students will choose one person or event to research from the archives in ACU’s Center for Restoration Studies. Following their research, students will write a 1000-word paper introducing that person or event to their readers. Papers should accomplish at least two important goals. First, each paper should exemplify the significance of that person or event on the history of Churches of Christ. Second, each paper should show some personal connection to that student’s life. For example, a student might choose to write on Marshall Keeble because he baptized his or her grandmother. Or, a student might choose to write on Carl Spain because his 1960 speech at Abilene Christian College paved the way for him or her to attend school at ACU. Papers will be graded upon the degree to which they address these two stated goals, accuracy of content, and correct grammar.
