Write a reflecting on what this particular media production reveals about the political, social or cultural contexts in which it was made.

I want someone who follows instruction, read the materials I provide, and to some extent have written media essay before.

Choose a particular media text (a film, an episode of a TV series, a song/album, a game, a book, a social media feed – the choice is yours). Drawing on theory and perspectives from the course, conduct a media production analysis of this text that should include:
– Outlining the production team (who is involved at different stages of the production process) and who funded its production.
– Describing the particular industry structures in which this text is embedded (the blockbuster film industry/the independent music industry/the gaming industry etc)
– Discussing where this text was produced and to what extent the production can be understood as international or transnational.
– Write a reflecting on what this particular media production reveals about the political, social or cultural contexts in which it was made.
– Analysing any relevant ethical issues that arise in understanding where and how this text is produced and by whom.

Remember that you can cover a limited amount in 2000 words when making your choice – for example, analysing a whole TV series would not be possible, but one episode would be.
You should:
– Check with your seminar tutor re: your choice of media text and the approach you’d like to take before you begin.
– Draw on a range of source material, including media production theory from the course but also: interviews with/profiles of relevant media producers, ‘behind-the-scenes’ materials, stories about the production in popular media (magazines, newspapers, online, on social media).

Your assignment should include:
· An introduction stating the media text you have chosen, the approaches you are going to use to analyse it, and an indication of the overall results of the analysis.
· A description of the text, providing any essential background to understanding it (approx. 1-2 paragraphs). If you are analysing an image, you may include it here. If you are analysing something available online, you can include a hyperlink to it here.
· An in-depth analysis of the text using clearly defined analytical and theoretical tools covered on the module. This should be the longest section of the assignment.
· A concluding paragraph summarising your findings.
· Full bibliographic information on all relevant sources used in the assignment, formatted according to the CMCI style guide (note that the bibliography is not included in the word count).
