The Informative Synthesis asks you to build on your Critique
by teaching your reader something related to your topic in that previous paper.
You will need to research some aspect of your topic to provide your reader with
accurate, well-presented information. Your ultimate goal is to produce readers
that not only know how to do a task in your topic, but why and how that task is
important—to understand the decisions that they are making. Developing a project may require you to focus in on one aspect
of your previous topic or thinking about the broader context. Either way, you
will need to use the library resources to research your topic that supports
your goal of producing well-informed readers. You will need to assess the
quality of your sources and establish a variety to offer a comprehensive
overview of your topic.
Because you will be pulling from a variety of sources, you
will need to synthesize that information for your reader. You will need to
identify necessary components of your essay and use your sources to support
your purpose.
