Ethical Theory Applied to Case Studies

Instructions:

You are use Kantian Deontology
You are to pick 5 case studies from either the one’s already discussed or from one’s to be discussed or a case study you are familiar with but not included here. It’s easier if you pick from the one’s already discussed.
Clearly and accurately, explain/summarize the theory you have chosen.
Clearly and accurately, summarize each case study
Clearly and accurately, apply the theory to each case study
Make sure your paper is well written, grammatically correct, properly punctuated etc. In other words, make sure it is readable.
When grading these papers, the an important element that I will consider is the quality of the paper: is it well written? Is the grammar college-level grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc.? Does the writer carefully and seriously consider the issue? Etc. TO CITE THE CASE STUDIES, merely cite the title of the case. No need for a reference list or a citation page. I am more interested in the quality and engagement with the theories.

You should use citations when writing information or thoughts or arguments that belong to someone else. Always. HOWEVER, I do not have a preference about what citations style you use or how you use it. All I attend to is THAT you use it.

Since this paper is mostly based on information from material found in Canvas, then when you are using that information (when you are using quotes in your paper), all you need to do is tell me where you got it in the simplest way possible. For example:

“xyzzy” (Lecture on Rawls).

“xyzzy” (“Utilitarianism,” p. 459)

In other words, use any identification you can think of to cite the paper. The way you do this will not effect your grade. Your grade will suffer IF YOU NOT do this.

What I care most about these papers is 1. grammar, 2. your explanation of the theory, 3. your summaries, 4. your application of the theory to the cases, and 5. evidence that you’ve thought about what you’ve written.

Thus, for structure, just write it in a way that addresses these things and all will be well.
