Students will use the list of bacteria from the back of the laboratory manual to make a flow chart. Two flow charts will be produced, one for the gram-positive organisms and one for the gram-negative organisms. The flow chart will use tests from the lab manual to sort the bacteria from each other. This flowchart will be used as a guide by the student to determine steps in identifying the unknown they are assigned.
The following document has the expected results for all organisms to be included in the flow chart assignment. It also outlines which organisms should be included in the assignment as potential unknowns.
