Use intext citiation with footnotes. This research paper is intended to stimulate your interest in and demonstrate your knowledge of issues related to the politics of resentment in Canada.
Paper Requirements
Your paper is required to have:
– A clear and concise introduction that lays out your thesis, supporting arguments, and a road map explaining the structure of your paper
– A strong thesis that makes a compelling argument about the topic you are examining
– A brief analysis of the relevant literature or background information on your topic
– A series of arguments that support your central thesis
– A conclusion that neatly conveys the central findings and arguments in your paper
– A bibliography that includes the complete citations for all sources used in your paper
You are encouraged to use headlines to help structure your paper.
Throughout the paper, you are required to cite at least five peer-reviewed scholarly books and articles, including at least two references published within the past five years. Do not cite the course textbooks in your paper. You may use any citation style that you wish but you are required to be consistent throughout the paper. My preference is that you use an in-text citation style (parenthetical, author/date/page, etc.) over footnotes or endnotes.
Assessment
The paper will be assessed on the following criteria:
-Quality of the thesis
oDoes your paper make a compelling argument?
-Quality of the supporting arguments
oIs your overarching thesis well supported by the arguments used throughout the
paper?
oAre the arguments compelling? Does the student use the literature or data
appropriately and convincingly to support an original thesis?
oAre the arguments well organized? Do they flow logically from one to the next?
-Quality of literature and data
oDoes the paper use the appropriate number of scholarly sources?
oDoes the writer effectively engage with the arguments and theses of the books and
articles that they cite?-Organization and style
oIs the paper well written?
oAre all sources properly cited?
oIs it well organized in clear and concise paragraphs?
oDoes the essay use proper mechanics, including appropriate spelling, punctuation,
and grammar?
