Tableau
In this case, you are
the auditors and trying to use Tableau and 2020 revenue data obtained from
Mason Snow, an audit client, to identify ‘sales on specific days at specific
store locations’ that look most risky (=high possibility of misstatements) so
that the engagement team can focus on those risky amounts in substantive
procedures. This week, you will identify Mason Snow’s fraud risk related to
revenue recognition and continue your Tableau analyses. As a group, each member
of the group must work collaboratively to complete the tasks.
Your Tasks:
Continue your Tableau
analyses of trends in sales and the relationship between sales and weather
patterns. Specifically, you should submit the following analyses.
Pick one store type that the
2020 sales trend looks most abnormal compared to 2019 sales (Note: I noticed many groups used bar and line
graphs in last week’s analyses. When trying to find ‘unusual’ sales
transactions, scatter plots are a better tool to observe outliers than
bar or line graghs).
Put together a MS Word document that
includes
1) the graphs (screenshots) and analyses
(50-100 words) on the store type you selected;
2) Brief conclusion on risk
transactions you would like to select as the sample to test revenue (150
words)
