After Snowden the NSA has become increasingly concerned that there
may be backdoors in some internal NSA applications. Assume you have been
assigned the role of Security Architect for the NSA Software
Applications team. The team is tasked with developing an application to
detect backdoors in NSA applications.
Your task for this assignment is to design an application for detecting backdoors on NSA Applications.
You design should include the following:
1. A high level overview of what the application will do.
2. Discuss the Software Architecture, i.e Is it Client-Server, Standalone … etc.
3. Define the System Requirements (What does the system need to detect?) Explore the resources section for help here.
4. Define the System Roles and any Separation of Duties
5. Discuss how you will handle data integrity in the system.
6. Discuss how you will handle system exceptions
7. Discuss the SDLC that you will use to implement the software and how you will handle issues during development
8. Provide a powerpoint and recording in a briefing style approach.
This means, assume you are briefing the rest of the development team and
stakeholders.
Your powerpoint should be at-least 7 slides.
