Eighth Short Response

At the center of debates around healthcare allocation are questions of human rights. Most would agree that everyone has the right to some basic level of healthcare—e.g. emergency rooms won’t turn away patients without insurance. But, the question remains: where do we draw that line? Do people have a right to a full suite of necessary healthcare—as advocates of single-payer or universal healthcare argue? What about preventative healthcare—nutrition, access to regular checkups, etc.? What about elective procedures? In this short response, reflect on what a right-to-healthcare means. What medical rights do everyone share? This response should be a minimum of 300 words in length (that’s usually about 1 page, double-spaced, 12 pt font; there is no maximum length) and cite at least one of the required readings
