This assignment is asking you to put together the various concepts, ideas, and theories you have read and that we have discussed throughout the semester in conversation. However, not only will you simply synthesize what we have discussed, but I am also asking you to continue to advance the conversation outside of our class discussions.
This paper should be seen and serve as a bridge between your discussions posts and notes and the larger research project you want to pursue for the final project for the semester where you will put the many conversations you have read and that we have discussed in conversation with research you find on own, your own experience, and/or current issue/topic.
Use credible sources when searching for information and quotes on the internet.
Use these articles for the bulk of the information and quotations:

I am providing you with several questions you can use for this assignment. You can use these questions or see them as a starting point. For the paper, you only need to select one group of questions, or you can create your own questions and, after approval, use your questions to guide your synthesis paper.
Guiding Questions:
What role does culture play in rhetoric? How might we continue to expand the field of rhetoric to continue to account for culture?
How can a cultural rhetorical lens make us take into account the power dynamics within our language and literacies?
How does a cultural rhetorics framework expand “traditional” understandings/definitions of “literacy”?
Regardless of the question(s) you choose to answer or the ones you create, this paper should include working definitions for cultural rhetorics. These definitions can be woven into your paper in whatever way you think makes most sense to your question and purpose.
Criteria for a Successful Paper
