It is your turn to find some product placement. I don’t want you to type “product placement examples” into a search engine and post the first things that come up. Use your own life and your own preferred media to “capture” product placement in the wild. Take a picture or include a link of at least two examples of product placement this week. Tell us where you found it, how often you interact with that media and if you have noticed it before.
If you think it isn’t out there…the show The Big Bang theory often used Seventh Generation dish soap. It would fit in with the environmentally-conscious scientist characters. Characters in Netflix originals often name drop its other shows. I’ve heard it on Hulu as well.
Remember, these are not #ad on social media or overt advertising. These are products characters use in movies with the brand clearly showing or name drops disguised as dialogue in a show. Racing video games use real ads as billboards or stores you drive by. This is intended to be sneaky…if it is done well.
