1. Visit batchgeo.com to begin working on an asset map. (Batchgeo: A useful tool to map communities for asset maps).
2. Visit the site and watch the video about GIS systems. You are to create your own asset map of your community using batchgeo.com . This asset map should relate to the service industry where you are proposing change. For example, let’s say you work for the YMCA and you have identified that there are not enough daycares in your community. Thus, your change project is to develop an inner-city daycare where there are none. You will enter all the daycares by name that currently exist in your community (city, county, region…your choice) by address, city, and state, and then click the batch so it provides a map of the daycare locations. You anticipate seeing daycares in the wealthiest parts of the community but not the locations of lower-income. The Batchgeo tool will provide a visual of the service region gaps. So, you should:
3. Plugin the information into the excel spreadsheet that you have collected as to where these sites are located.
4. If you live in a large urban area chose a neighborhood. If you live in a rural area, a county or community will work.
5. Put the name of the program, city, state and zip code, and phone number into an excel spreadsheet. Group and URL are not necessary.

8. Take a screenshot of your map and save it to your computer. Include the map in the written assignment called Community Asset Mapping Assignment and upload ONE single document, NOT two, into this assignment link.
