Research and write a paper on the Atlanta Child Murders case. The paper must include a summary of the case and the processes that were used to investigate the murders.
Topics that need to be included in the assignment include, but are not limited to the following:
History of the case
Discuss the crime scene investigation and the evidence recovered.
Explain how the media influenced the investigation.
Give examples and explain what went well during the investigation.
Give examples and explain what went wrong during the investigation.
Explain how you would have approached the problems faced by the police during the investigation. What would you have done differently?
Include your opinion of the investigation and the outcome.
Feel free to utilize other topics covered in class and incorporate them into the assignment. The assignment does not need to be simply a list of facts from the case; I expect you to analyze the collected facts and use what you learned in class and material from the textbook.
This assignment will be typewritten, APA style (no abstract needed), works cited to include class text, pages numbered, 12 size font, double-spaced, with one-inch margins, and between five to seven pages in length.
Late assignments will be penalized ten (10) points per day, and the penalty period begins as soon as I start the day’s lecture or discussion.
