1. Length: 3-5 pages (double spaced)
2. Your topic should cover an important political event or an issue. Your topic does not have
to be specific to the state of Texas, although it certainly can be. You
are welcome to write about any important recent or current political
issue in the United States. However, if you choose to write about a
national or a federal issue, at least a portion of your paper should
focus on what it means for Texas. You have a lot of freedom here. As
long as your topic covers something that influences current political
climate in the United States, it should work. Possible topics include
but are not limited to recent elections, landmark Supreme Court cases,
recent bills passed by Federal and State Congress, civil rights and
civil liberties issues, climate change, etc. I’d advise to choose
something you are passionate about. Feel free to reach out to me to
confirm/ask any questions about your topics.
3. Once you choose your topic, you should provide some history of the
issue at hand. If you are writing about a divisive or a
contentious issue, present arguments from all sides. It is ok to include
your opinion on the topic if you’d like, as long as you provide
sufficient evidence and justification.
4. You are required to use and properly cite (APA or MLA formats) at least 3 legitimate sources.
Newspapers are fine, but, please, make sure to check the legitimacy and
leanings of the newspapers you are using. You are also welcome to use
books and academic journals. Do not cite Wikipedia.
SOURCES:
Here are the sources I like. I want to make my focus on this paper about the many views how abortion banned is having more negative outcomes in the medical field towards doctors and womens bodies. How this law is pushing us back and of course the obvious discrimination it has on women and their rights with their own life.

Doctors in Texas have been warning that SB 8 would make it harder for them to treat medical crises and would endanger their patients. Six months in, many say those predictions are coming true.
