The Sign of the Four

For your paper, I’d like you to write about The Sign of the Four and the theme of justice. Once you have an idea, start re-reading the play to see if there is a pattern or anything else worthy of note concerning your topic. Papers should be 1750-2250 words and properly formatted and documented in MLA.

I want to see you grapple with an issue in a thoughtful way, and to ground your essay using the They Say/I say form of a research paper. Using scholarly databases, familiarize yourself with the critical discourse on your topic, and then find a niche that you can carve out for yourself within that conversation. I want you to use a minimum of 2 scholarly secondary sources. You can use non-scholarly sources as well, but they don’t count toward your minimum, and I’d be cautious about using them.
