ukraine vs russia

The assignment is to examine two sides of an ethical issue following the structure below. Keep the paragraphs fairly tight—none of them should run much longer than half a page.

Introduction and thesis [1 paragraph]:
Describe what the ethical issue is. Say why it matters and/or illustrate the issue with a few key facts or descriptions (the point is to “hook” your reader). End the paragraph with a clear thesis statement, giving your stance on this ethical issue.
Support for your position [2 paragraphs]:
Name two strong reasons in support of your ethical position. Each paragraph should lead with one reason.
Then, in the rest of the paragraph, support that line of thinking with reasoned statements.
At least one of your two reasons should be a principled ethical reason in which you reference one of the three ethical theories (consequentialism, deontology, virtue ethics).
If either reason involves a factual statement or data, then cite this information, keeping in mind that you should use a reputable source and give the full bibliographic information.
Considering the other side [2 paragraphs]
What another view on this ethical issue holds. Summarize its case [1 paragraph]
What would be a rational response to defend your position? [1 paragraph]
Learning from the other side [2 paragraphs]
However, what can you identify as correct and/or helpful about that other side?
Based on these expanded insights, come up with one or more constructive ideas for approaching this ethical issue that might get beyond the limits of a pro/con divide (as in Weston’s approach in chapter 4).
Conclusion [Use the last few sentences of your 4b paragraph to wrap on a high note]
References
List any resources that you quoted or relied upon. You don’t need to cite my lectures or PowerPoint, but you can use and quote them.
Thank any people who helped you. (You are to work and write independently on this project, but if you had brainstorming conversations or received editing feedback on a draft, that is fine—but please acknowledge these people.)

The paper will be graded by three criteria, each weighing roughly equally:
Accuracy
You address all the elements required, clearly and accurately. Your ethical view and the other view are explained effectively. An ethical theory is accurately used.
Thoughtfulness
You support your position effectively. You fairly state the other view and respond reasonably. You identify strengths on the other side, based on which you develop one constructive idea.
Clarity
Your writing is clear and accurate, free of major or continual errors. The paper is easy to read.
