that will consist of a one page summary and response. Half the page should be a
summary of all assigned readings together and half the page should be a
response. The entire assignment each week consists of just one page, no matter
how many readings we have! Since there are typically more than one assigned
reading, the challenge is to cram as much information into the first half page
as possible (with standard margins and font size!) You will need to choose your
words wisely and not waste any space. Each reading should get at least a
sentence or two. The response should explain how you felt about the reading, if
you connected with it on any level, and should attempt to connect the reading
to something in the present day, whether a current event or your personal life
if at all possible. You should also attempt some analysis, which would involve
critically examining the text. Who is the author’s intended audience? What was
the author’s motive when writing this text? Is the author trustworthy? Does the
author exhibit any possible biases?
