important freedoms, including freedom of speech. However with the recent movement
towards political correctness in speech, some say that our first amendment rights to free
speech are being threatened. News stories report that individuals have been fired for
making a remark that is not “politically correct,” college campuses are instituting speech
codes banning certain words, and even works like movies and books are being banned.
Some argue that political correctness has gone too far.
