Write an essay in which you explain how various characters from all three novels can be viewed as morally ambiguous and why their moral ambiguity is significant to the work as a whole.

Prompt:
Morally ambiguous characters — characters whose behavior discourages readers from identifying them as purely evil or purely good — are at the heart of many works of literature, such as, Dracula, Frankenstein, and The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde. Using ALL three of the novels, explain how the morally ambiguous characters play a pivotal role in each of the works.
Writing Task: Write an essay in which you explain how various characters from all three novels can be viewed as morally ambiguous and why their moral ambiguity is significant to the work as a whole. Avoid mere plot summary.
Requirements:
1. Word count: 1500 – 2000 words – Essay length: MULTI-PARAGRAPH essay
2. You will write an introduction that begins with the general topic, so you will need to refer the the prompt to see what the general topic is about. Then the middle of the introduction will briefly discuss how the topic is relevant to the text you are addressing. Lastly, you will end the introduction with your thesis statement.
3. Each of your body paragraphs need to begin with a topic sentence and end with a concluding sentence that wraps up the paragraph and transitions to the next paragraph.
4. Each of your body paragraphs should have a minimum of 2 quotes per paragraph. Note: quotes are placed in the middle of the paragraph surrounded by discussion, quotes are not written towards the end of the paragraph, quotes are not written back to back, and quotes are not written AFTER the commentary. Also, if your paragraph is really lengthy, then you will need MORE than just 2 quotes per paragraph.
5. All quotes need a lead-in with in-text citations after the quotes.
6. You will need to demonstrate YOUR insight and critical thinking skills! You need to demonstrate the sophistication of your thought process and writing!
7. You will write a conclusion that MORE than adequately wraps up the paper.
8. You will need to provide a works cited page.
9. Follow ALL BASIC MLA heading and formatting rules!
