Capstone Case Study Questions
This capstone course seeks to test your knowledge of in several areas of your study. Try to answer each
questions in a very detailed manner. There is no yes or no answers her. Be very detailed. Use the
appropriate vocabulary in your answers.
A. What is Business
In order for a business to operate, things need to get done, such as issuing paychecks. These things are
called tasks. Related tasks form a function. Go through the case and identify tasks that are being
performed. Try to group related tasks together into functions (Use diagrams to show the functions).
Think about the goal of each function – if you asked someone who worked in such a department ‘what
do you do, what would they say? Discuss how each function contributes to the overall success of the
business.
B. Entrepreneurship
1. Is Joe an entrepreneur? Justify your answer.
2. Is entrepreneurship about the person (Joe), the process (starting and managing a new venture),
or an event (the idea of buying a bike shop)? Explain and justify your response.
3. Is Joe a social entrepreneur? If yes, why? if no, why not?
C. Marketing
1. Evaluate the 4 Ps of marketing (product, price, promotion, place) for Deals on Wheels
2. Did Joe consider the 4 Ps when he opened the business? Explain and justify your response.
D. Information Systems in a Business
