Begin by (1) identifying the two images shown (artist (if known), title, date) Next, discuss (2) how/to what degree these objects share a similarity (compare), and (3) how/to what degree these objects differ (contrast). A successful answer will have both elements (compare and contrast) and use appropriate vocabulary in the response. Each essay must have a minimum of 500 words. This is an open note exam, which means you can utilize your class notes and the lecture PowerPoint slides to complete your essays. You are not allowed to use material taken from the internet or sourced from outside websites (ie: Khan Academy or Smarthistory). As a reminder, the college defines plagiarism as follows: the intentional or unintentional presentation as new and original an idea or product derived from an existing source without properly citing the source of the material, for example:1) duplicating an author’s work (in part or whole) without quotation marks and/or accurate citations; 2) duplicating an author’s words or phrases or ideas with accurate citations, but without quotation marks as necessary; 3) using an author’s idea(s) in paraphrase without accurate citation(s) iv. submitting, without quotation marks, an essay or written work to be graded in which exact words are merely rearranged even though cited” (p. 2). Any essay that demonstrates plagiarism will be given a 0 grade for the assignment.
