Easy enough !
What is your thesis/hypothesis and what is your research question – (what do you want your research to answer/prove) – you can have as many research questions as you want, but you want to ensure that your research can answer them …. EX) My theory is that those patients who have poor oral health will have more complications with Alzheimer’s Disease. The purpose of my research will be to determine the correlation between oral health and Alzheimer’s disease and best practices for oral health management.
Why is this research important to the dental/dental hygiene profession (think about how could your research change the way we provide care or the way we look at how we practice) EX) This research is important to the dental/dental hygiene profession as this will help clinicians create customized care plans for their patients in order to reduce incidence and prevalence of disease in these ways…
Please include a brief synopsis of the research article you chose for this discussion and how it relates to your topic … EX) According to Smith and Jones, those patients who have Alzheimer’s disease will exhibit oral signs of the disease.. they conducted research to determine… what they found was there was a correlation between oral bacteria found in the mouth and brain tissue …..Give a brief synopses of the article – give a bit of background – why the study was done, the purpose, and indicate the major finding (basically you want to demonstrate why this article would be useful to back up your research question)
