2) The love affair between Romeo and Juliet leads to fighting, bloodshed, threats of suicide, and actual suicides. Are there other movies, books, etc. in which violence and love are commonly linked? If so, discuss these motifs and make connections to Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. Or, is Shakespeare’s play thematically unique? If so, what elements make the play unique?
