The Study Proposal due this week is a 7– 10 page research proposal on your chosen topic. It includes identification of methodology, data collection and analysis approaches, and ethical issues that need to be considered.
Assignment STUDY PROPOSAL
Now that you have learned about qualitative, quantitative, mixed-methods, and action research, you will write a research methodology and ethics paper that is due in Week 10. This assignment provides an opportunity for you to apply your learning to your research topic. This is something that you will need to do as part of your capstone/dissertation, as well. Your assignment must have all of the following sections:
Paper Organization
Start with a title page and organize your paper with the following sections:
Introduction: The opening content under your paper should provide an introduction of your chosen topic and what will be included in your paper.
Body of Paper
Design of Study: Provide an overview of the research topic, question, hypotheses, type of study, data methods, and the collection and analysis of data.
Population and Sampling: Describe the population targeted for the study, the sample, and how the sample will be chosen.
Collection of Data: Describe the how, where, and when of data collection, as well as required details for proposed interviews and surveys, as relevant. If you plan to conduct interviews, discuss whether they will be structured or not and provide sample questions as an appendix to the text. If you plan to conduct a survey, include sample questions as an appendix to the text.
Analysis of Data: Describe how the data will be analyzed, including justification for chosen methods. You must be detailed in discussing the identification and justification of your methods.
Ethics: Analyze ethical issues you can objectively visualize with your research topic and conducting your research—from your role as the researcher, to gaining participants, to collecting and analyzing data.
Conclusion: Emphasize the main themes of the proposal based on the synthesis of the literature reviewed. Use feedback you received from your instructor in the Literature Review assignment to provide a concise explanation of how the existing literature supports the proposal.
References: This is your reference page that must include all the resources from your literature review and any others that you have found or used while writing this assignment.
Appendix: As necessary, to explain data collection methods.
Assignment Requirements
Written communication: Write in third person and apply scholarly writing practices. Written communication should be free of errors that detract from the overall message.
Supporting Evidence: In-text citations in APA format are required to support your topic, proposed research question(s), and other sections of the paper. Include at least 12 peer-reviewed sources, no older than 7 years.
Format: Follow APA guidelines for the formatting of the paper, including title page, margins, font, pagination, headings and subheadings, reference page, and appendixes. See Evidence and APA about using APA. Use the Sample Course Paper Template [DOCX] for the assignment.
Length: 7–10 pages, not including the title and reference pages.
