Literacy Practice Analysis

For your first major writing assignment, I would like you to choose 3 of your personal literacy practices (remember those you listed in HW1 of this module) and discuss the extent to which these practices hinder or support your ability to engage with academic literacies required for you to be successful in college at large.
For example, you might want to consider the extent to which your comfort level with technology facilitates or hinders your success in some of the classes you are currently taking in addition to ENG101. Or, you might want to consider how much of a reader you are outside of school. Here, while you may have no trouble comprehending the texts you read for pleasure, you might want to think about the different kind of reading practices you are being asked to use to make sense of the other college texts. Again, these are just examples of ways of thinking about how your personal literacy practices may facilitate and/or hinder your engagement in academic practices encountered in other courses.
As you prepare your analysis, it will be helpful for you to look back on the readings and pay special attention to any examples in the readings where the authors discuss how their personal literacy practices helped and/or hindered their transition into college. A great example here is Marlena Stanford’s mention of Nadine or Randall McClure’s discussion Edward and Susan.

Composition teachers/literacy researchers looking to broaden their knowledge about how students use and transfer literacy practices
Sources:
As far as sources, I am aware that most of your evidence will be anecdotal in nature. However, you also need to use and incorporate at least two of the class readings from this unit into your paper.
