Purpose of this Assignment
Consider the impact of funk, soul or disco on the rise of marginalized populations and how that is represented in music.
For this week’s creative task, you will select one of the three styles focused on this week (funk, soul or disco) and prepare a video which includes the following:
How this style contributed to the rise of a marginalized population
How the music provided a “home” or a way to make a statement
Be sure to select a song that represents this style and describe the musical characteristics that support your opinions. All videos should be at least five minutes, but no longer than ten minutes.

Purpose of this Assignment
Imagine and apply using newly acquired knowledge from this week.
For this week’s creative task, you will create your own hair (glam) or thrash metal band. Be sure to address the following elements:
Band name
Band members
Their instruments
Band attire (what do they wear)
Band makeup/hair
Band mission
Be sure to describe what it would be like to attend a concert given by your band and draw upon characteristics presented this week for the style of band that you select; however, you may create a progression in style for you band. (ie what would “glam” metal look like in 2020?)
