The Ascent of the Maghreb Union. Please
read the Economic Perspectives case in your textbook. As you read the
case, look for opportunities to discuss the Maghreb Union’s impact on
the economies of the five North African countries that are its members
and the near­by E.U. countries. Explain why the European Union
periphery countries may be losing their competitiveness against the
Maghreb countries after reading the case.
