Question 1 (Chapter 7): Creating and Managing Organizational Culture

Describe a recent situation where management has altered organizational culture to successfully enhance organizational effectiveness. Look for such illustrative examples in practitioner-oriented academic journals (e.g., HBR, California Management Review, Sloan Management Review, etc.), in the popular press (e.g., Fortune, BusinessWeek, Forbes, Inc., etc.), or in reputed news publications.

Ensure that you use the theory in the text to guide your analysis and shape the content of your response.

Question 2 (Chapter 8): Organizational Design and Strategy in a Changing Global Environment

Identify an organization that recently implemented a corporate-level strategy to expand its value-creation activities beyond its current core domain (The “expansion” could be achieved through related diversification or unrelated diversification). Then, discuss how the organization’s structure and culture have/might be changed as the organization enters the new domain(s).

If you deem it appropriate, you may select the organization that you are researching for your “Organizational Analysis Project.” However, this must be your own responsibility, not a team effort!

Question 3 (Chapter 9): Organizational Design, Competencies, and Technology

Select an organization, analyze the technology it uses, and come up with new ways of making the system more efficient. Please use the theory in the chapter to guide your analysis and shape the content of your post.

If you deem it appropriate, you may select the organization that you are researching for your “Organizational Analysis Project.” However, this must be your own responsibility, not a team effort!

Be sure to number your response and all sub-parts to stay organized and ensure you do not miss answering any part.

Each question 1 to 3 answer should be of a minimum length of 200 words (as always it likely will need more than the minimum to present the best answer possible and to show your effort regarding your research). In addition, present one source of unique research per question at the minimum (more is always welcome!). Recall doing the minimum does not guarantee full credit.
