Length: This essay is required to be a minimum 1,500 words. Please submit your essay in normal font (such as 12 pt. Times New Roman), double-spaced, and with normal margins. Essays failing to meet the minimum length will be penalized.
Citations: When quoting or summarizing, you may simply provide the author and page number in parentheses, as in: (Watson, 95) which refers to the author and page number of a citation from Bread and Roses. Points will be deducted for inaccurate/inadequate use of citations.

Essay Topic:
-During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, industrial laborers endured many challenges, and yet also sought to improve their dismal working conditions. In this essay, use the assigned course materials to describe the challenges industrial laborers endured, and explain the strategies workers used to attempt to improve their conditions.
*Pay specific focus on the Triangle Factory Fire of 1911 and the Lawrence, Massachusetts, textile mill strike of 1912.
*Essays are required to incorporate examples from Bread and Roses, as well as from at least five of the assigned primary sources. It will also be appropriate to utilize the documentary film Triangle Fire in this essay.
