What do you think about the era’s of police reform that occurred in the past like the progressive or professional era?

During this week’s lecture we discussed the origins of the institution of law enforcement within the United States and its relationship to communities of color. Now that you’ve learned about various events that occurred throughout the history of law enforcement within the United States do you fully support the institution in it’s current state or do you think there needs to be another era of major police reform? What do you think about the era’s of police reform that occurred in the past like the progressive or professional era? Were these transformations helpful or harmful? Which group do you think bears the most responsibility for the poor relationship between communities of color and law enforcement and why? If you lead the next era of police reform what changes to the institution of law enforcement would you encourage?
During the lecture on Colorism we discussed how the phenomena affects U.S. society and race relations globally. Do you think that colorism is a serious problem in America or do you believe other race related issues are of more importance? Have you experienced colorism, if so how did it make you feel. What do you think should be done to address the global skin bleaching problem?
