The purpose of this discussion is to explore strategies and mechanisms pop music industry utilizes to creating and manipulate with the audiences.
Choose a music video you would like to explore. It has to be representative of a certain genre, such as country music, or jazz, etc.
In your initial post after the information about the video (link to the video on YouTube, authorship and performer’s names, the lyrics), include the following:

Paragraph 1: Basic information about the song and the video (authors, performers, year), which genre it represents, and why, you think, it is representative of the genre. If the answer to the last question is not obvious, try responding it at the end of your analysis, in paragraph 7.

Paragraph 2 (lyrics): Analyze messages / presuppositions behind the wording, identify the levels of motivation touched upon in the lyrics.

Paragraph 3 (lyrics): Analyze the language metaphors.

Paragraph 4 (video): Identify visual metaphors.

Paragraph 5 (video): Describe the artistic / creative means.

Paragraph 6: Analyze the correspondence of the lyrics and the visual part with regard to messages and means of their delivery.
