Personal Theory Research Paper
Purpose: The purpose of this final paper is to solidify your ideas about your personal theory and how it will be applied in your future as a counselor.
Parameters: You will write a 12-15 page paper, not including the title page, abstract, or reference page. You may use first person, but still be professional in your writing. Current APA formatting should be followed. While you may use the text and presentations, you must have 7 or more additional peer-reviewed, scholarly resources published in the last 5 years. No more than 5 direct quotations are allowed. This assignment utilizes the SafeAssign originality tool. Upon submission, SafeAssign will generate an originality report that detects plagiarism. This report will be sent to your instructor.
Prompt: Using the knowledge you have gained in this course about the different theories, and reflecting on your first paper, develop your own personal theoretical approach to counseling. While your theory should be composed of some original thought, you should support the content of your paper with peer-reviewed scholarly resources above and beyond the textbooks and presentations used in this course.
